BOYSTOWN: Season Two by Jake Biondi - Carly's One Question & Excerpt!

BOYSTOWN: Season Two
by Jake Biondi
Genere: M/M Romance

Synopsis
Welcome back to BOYSTOWN!

“As the others scrambled, two more gunshots were fired, echoing throughout the room. Blood splattered on the wall and floor as three bodies fell to the ground.” --BOYSTOWN: Season One

In the aftermath of the warehouse shootings, lives are forever changed and relationships are forever altered. As the families of the victims work to put the horrific event behind them, they find themselves at the center of an even larger plan for revenge.

Ciancio twins Marco and Gino are as handsome as they are powerful -- and they arrive in Boystown with a scheme rooted in the bad history between the Ciancio and Mancini families.

At the same time, Keith Colgan seems hell-bent on getting back the boyfriend he believes was stolen from him, Ben Donovan continues with his plan for Jacqueline Morgan and her son Jesse, and a stranger from the past threatens the future.

It all leads up to a spectacular New Year’s Eve engagement party that no one will ever forget.

"Hey, Logan?" Jesse asked, as he entered the other room.
"Yes?" Logan replied from the window.
"What's up with the two rooms?"
"I didn't want to assume anything, Jesse," Logan explained. "Besides, it's a business trip. If nothing else, we need to keep up appearances."
Jesse joined Logan at the window. "Good thinking, as always." Jesse wrapped his arm around Logan's waist and gazed out over the Las Vegas strip. "It's a pretty amazing city."
"The best and worst of America all in one place." Logan laughed. Then he turned to Jesse and kissed him. "And the best part is that we have plenty of time before our dinner meeting. Should we hit the gym or the casino?"
Jesse kissed Logan. "Or should we just stay right here?" Jesse ran his hands over Logan's chest and shoulders.
"I like the sound of that." Logan smiled, pulling Jesse close to him. "In fact, I ordered a little something special for us." Logan nodded toward the champagne chilling on the table.
"Fun first, champagne second," Jesse said as he dipped his tongue between Logan's lips. Logan opened Jesse's shirt and pulled it off of him. Jesse followed suit, removing Logan's shirt and pushing him back onto the leather couch behind him.
Carly's One Question
Today I'm feeling a little bit giddy, because I'm thrilled to be welcoming Jake Biondi to my blog to talk about the highly anticipated release of BOYSTOWN: Season Two this week! So Jake, tell me, with the success of the online serial, and then the release of Season One in book format, what surprised you the most about the fans' response to book one, and did it impact the outcome of book two in any way?

Jake: For me, one of the best parts of writing the BOYSTOWN series has been the interaction with the fans. I encourage all BOYSTOWN readers to email or message me with their thoughts, comments, and ideas.

Originally, when I was releasing the BOYSTOWN “episodes” online, readers would immediately email me with reactions and suggestions for future episodes.  I often incorporated their ideas into future installments.  Now that BOYSTOWN is in a book form, that becomes a bit more challenging; however, fans are still able to influence future storylines in some ways.

One thing that really surprised me was the fans’ reaction to the couple of Keith and Emmett, which some fans fondly call “Kemmett.”  They really liked those two as a couple and were not happy with what I did to them at the end of Season One.  So I have received a ton of emails begging for me to bring them back together in Season Two.  I had no idea when I was writing that couple’s storyline that readers would become so attached to them.

I was also surprised by fans’ response to the Cole-Derek-Joyelle triangle.  While everyone seems to love Cole, only some fans love Derek, while others hate him.  Some think Derek should stay with Joyelle, some think Derek should be with Cole, and some think Derek doesn't deserve to be with anyone.  Derek is a complicated character being pulled in a variety of directions -- and I think readers will see him pulled in even more directions in Season Two.

Another surprise for me was the fans’ interest in Justin Mancini, who only appears toward the end of Season One.  Because he was only in the last quarter or so of the book, I didn’t think readers would have much of a response to him one way or another.  But he really caught the readers’ interest -- and Justin does play an important part in Season Two.

As people dive into Season Two, I hope they will continue to email and message me with their comments and suggestions -- because I'm already writing Season Three!

Carly: Yipee! I'm so excited to hear that Season Three is in the works. Thank you for taking the time to stop by during the madness of release week to share your thoughts. I know we'll all be watching for your next release, and I hope you'll be back to share more about the characters that have captured our hearts soon!

BOYSTOWN: Season One
