Review: Forbidden Destiny

Forbidden DestinyForbidden Destiny by Lia Michaels
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A unique story with formatting flaws.

Forbidden Destiny is a short story that introduces readers to the M/M romance series Fearless Love. The main characters, Ethan and Abraham, have been dreaming of each other since childhood. As the "Chosen One" of his Native American people, Ethan is a raptor or eagle shifter who is destined to become the Great Thunderbird and restore peace and hope to all the native tribes.

Before he can begin this journey he must find his mate, Abraham. While Ethan has always been accepted and supported by his family, Abraham had a much different experience. When the two meet for the first time the attraction is instantaneous but Abraham is haunted by his past and is unable to shift into his raptor form.

Driven apart by insecurities and doubts, the two men meet again 15 years later. While their connection remains strong, both have changed significantly during the time apart. The unexpected reunion kindles hope for a second chance at love, but in order to fulfill their destiny both must let go of the pain that caused their initial separation.

I enjoyed this short introduction to the unique paranormal world that Lia Michaels creates for her readers and am curious to see where destiny will lead these two dynamic characters!

3 stars due to frequent formatting and editing errors throughout which significantly detracted from the overall reading experience.

A copy of FORBIDDEN DESTINY was provided by the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
