Getting Close to the Omega
(Cloverleah Pack, Book 5)
by Lisa Oliver

Length: 80,000 words
Genres: Paranormal, Erotica, Gay (M/M), Romance
Dean Weir has finally found happiness in his position as Omega wolf of the Cloverleah pack. He has his friends, his work and his art and he has never looked for anything else. Badly abused by his ex-home pack and Alpha, Dean keeps his head down and stays out of trouble. That is, until his mate joins the pack.

Matthew Charmichael is over a hundred years old and has been a lone wolf for longer than he can remember. Joining the Cloverleah pack after he heard they were having trouble with another wolf shifter, Matthew is overjoyed to find his mate is the cute little Omega of the small pack. But Dean's past, and the constant attacks on the pack from the mysterious Kylan, could mean that Matthew and Dean won't get their HEA after all. Can Dean overcome his past, and embrace the powers that a claimed Omega is purported to have, or will his ex-pack kill him before he and Matthew have a chance.

Warning: This is a love story between two male wolf shifters. It includes graphic depictions of sex between men as well as some violence and coarse language. Historical abuse themes are referred to, but not described.

“You matter to me,” Matthew said. “One day you will share your personal horrors with me, purely and simply because eventually we won’t have any secrets from each other. You will trust that I am strong enough to handle it, and that I will comfort you when you need me to. Those things come with time.” Matthew lifted his arms, encouraging Dean’s hands to come back up to his shoulders. As though he couldn’t get enough, Dean went back to tracing Matthew’s collar bone.

Matthew swallowed a moan and forced himself to keep speaking. “But right now, in this moment, I need you to know, that to me, any scars you have are a testament to your strength and ability to survive. And you have no idea how thankful I am that you did survive and that you feel comfortable enough with me to sit here and touch me like this.”

“You make me calm, like I have found my center,” Dean explained. “I don’t know why, but when I’m around you I don’t have any fear, of anything.” He looked up and Matthew was blasted by the pure need in Dean’s eyes. “Could you, would you mind maybe kissing me again, please?”

“As often as you like,” Matthew promised as he leaned over and carefully brushed his lips over Dean’s mouth.
Carly: Today I'm pleased to welcome Lisa Oliver, author of Getting Close to the Omega. She has graciously agreed answer a few questions to let readers get to know her better! What is the best book you ever read and why is it your favourite?

Lisa: Hi Carly, thanks for hosting me here today.  I have read literally thousands of books since I started reading at aged four, but my two favourites from childhood were “Wind in the Willows,” and “Gone With the Wind.” Although my tastes have become more adult as I have got older, and I now predominantly read M/M books, those two still stay in my heart.  I loved the animals in WITW and how they interacted with each other.  GWTW was a classic in my eyes – passion, war, and a woman who vowed to think about things….tomorrow.  I still remember that and often think along the same lines.

Carly: If you could choose to have any type of super power what would it be and why?

Lisa: I would love to control the elements – imagine having a hissy fit with the ability to bring down a storm, or send the waves crashing in the ocean. I adore nature in all its forms and to be able to harness and tap into that energy would be positively amazing.

Carly: What is your favourite memory?

Lisa: I have three grown children and five grandchildren, one of which I was honoured to be present at the birth, so I have a number of really positive memories.  But if I was to pick one, just for me, it would be the three months I spent with my father before he suddenly dropped dead.  He wasn’t ill, and my mother was long gone, so he lived alone. Spending that time with him…listening to him relate his memories and getting to know him all over again, was a really special time for me and I still miss him every day.

Carly: Do you have a guilty pleasure?

Lisa: Chocolate.  No, that doesn’t count because I am not guilty about that at all lol.  If I am feeling stressed and tired the thing I love to do is get in my car, turn the stereo up really loud and just drive around listening to my favourite music.  I bought my car, a black XJ6 Jaguar, with the royalties from book one in the Cloverleah Pack series, and I love driving it.

Carly: If you could take a vacation anywhere in the world where would you go?

Lisa: I have three vacations on my bucket list.  Firstly I want to do a cruise, somewhere around the Mediterranean so I can immerse myself in history. Secondly I want to go back to England, as a tourist and travel to the spots I remember as a child – Cornwall, Stonehenge and places like that. Finally I want to go to the USA and travel to the places I write about.  I would love to do that tour on a motorbike, but I have to learn to ride one first.  Yes, that is on my bucket list too.

Thank you for hosting me here today.  I hope you and your readers enjoy the men of the Cloverleah Pack.
Lisa Oliver had been writing non-fiction books for years when visions of half dressed, buff men started invading her dreams. Unable to resist the lure of her stories, Lisa decided to switch to fiction books, and now stories about her men clamor to get out from under her fingertips.

When Lisa is not writing, she is usually reading with a cup of tea always at hand. Her grown children and grandchildren sometimes try and pry her away from the computer and have found that the best way to do it, is to promise her chocolate. Lisa will do anything for chocolate.

Lisa loves to hear from her readers and other writers. You can friend her on Facebook, or email her directly at yoursintuitively@gmail.com.
