Genres: BDSM, Erotica, Gay (M/M), Paranormal, Romance
Ace is on a mission. On the run from his old pack, the enforcer is determined that cat shifter Teric must die. In his head it's the only way he can regain his place in the Washington pack and the Bound and Bonded club. In an effort to meet his needs for Domination in the human world, Ace visits Whips, a predominantly human BDSM club and gets the shock of his life.
Devin is a five hundred year old vampire who has been searching for his one and only for the longest time. Working as a house sub at Whips was fine until one Master over steps his boundaries and Devin is left with time on his hands. Deciding on a whim to track down the delicious wolf shifter he had smelled at the club, Devin soon tracks down Ace...and then promptly wishes he hadn't. Ace is a wolfist and refuses to accept Devin as his mate.
Misunderstandings are just one hurdle these two need to overcome, if they are ever to have their HEA. The enforcers from the Washington Pack are still looking for Ace, and when they find him it might prove the end for both Devin and Ace.
Warnings; this is a gay erotic romance about a wolf shifter and a vampire. The book includes graphic sex scenes between men, BDSM elements and coarse language.
Carly: Today I'm pleased to welcome Lisa Oliver, author of Fighting Fangs. She has graciously agreed answer a few fun questions! If Hollywood was making Fighting Fangs: The Movie who would you cast as Ace and Devin?
Lisa: Hello, and thank you for hosting me on your blog today. Oh my goodness, I don’t think there is a man alive who would be big enough to fill the role of Ace. Even for a wolf shifter he is big, and his long hair is his most prized asset. If I had to pick I would go for a young Sylvester Stallone, who is at least six inches taller, a foot wider, and with long hair lol. For Devin, Lucas Till (X-Men) comes to mind but his hair would be curlier.Carly: There’s a shifter popularity contest running right now! Are you Team Feline or Team Canine?Lisa: Definitely Team Canine. Although I have some cat shifters in my books, like Teric for example, I do love the whole idea of a wolf pack and how they interact together. Plus which, I own a dog, not a cat (I am allergic to cats).Carly: Ace and Devin’s relationship has a bit of a rocky start. Do you believe in love at first sight?Lisa: Yes I do, surprisingly enough. I think that it is possible to meet someone with whom you have instant chemistry, who, as you get to know them, you come to realize how much you both have in common. Of course I haven’t found my “mate” yet, but I am still hopeful, and looking lol.Carly: Dracula is sooo last week… what makes your vampires unique?Lisa: Hmmm, that’s a tricky one. I have watched and read Dracula, and Twilight of course. My vampires are beautiful, but they don’t twinkle. They can go out in the sun, and as you found out with Devin, they get stronger as they get older. Vampires are born, not made, and though they need to have blood, they also eat real food. My twist, for the want of a better word, was the blood urges, which is a bit like a vampire version of PMS on steroids. It was those blood urges that pushed Devin into Whips in the first place.Carly: What is your favourite scene from Fighting Fangs and why?Lisa: I have a couple from this book – when Ace got over his foolishness and went and rescued Devin from Whips; the moment when Ace realized his crimes could kill his mate; but my favorite was when Ace took care of Devin’s blood urges in the cell. Although it could be considered a violent scene, the way Ace immediately put Devin’s needs first, and sought for ways to give the vampire what he needed, really resonated with me.
Thank you so much for letting me come visit today. It’s been fun talking to you. J
“This is not a scene. Not this time. This is us, together. Mate. Amatus. No rules. No restrictions. Just two men who will be together for a lifetime.”
Devin’s eyes flashed a brilliant red, the sight almost shocking Ace with its intensity and then it was gone just as quickly.
“I want that,” Devin said softly, as his hands came up from where they had been resting on the bed and gripped Ace’s biceps. “I want that a lot,” his voice finishing on a growl that set Ace’s wolf on edge as though not sure whether to challenge or submit. But that growl left Ace in no doubt that the man underneath him was as much a predator as he was.
