Lia Davis Interviews Her Characters!

Hello and thanks for following the Unconditional Surrender blog tour! I’m Lia Davis and my story in the bundle is HIS GUARDED HEART. I have my heroes, Judd and Beau, with me today for a little Q&A. So, please, have a seat and enjoy.
Lia: Hi, guys, please tell us about you: job, hobbies, special talents, and anything else you would want to share.
Judd: *gives a short nod* I work for Homeland Security in the Federal Protective Services. Work is my hobby.
Beau: And he as many talents that aren’t appropriate to mention in public. I’m a senator for Virginia and a father to a beautiful little girl named Angel. Between work, Angel and Judd I don’t have time for hobbies.
Lia: Tell us about the first time you met. Was it love at first sight?
Beau: It was almost 10 years ago. I was an Air Force JAG at the time and Judd’s lawyer.
Judd: It was not love at first sight. I was a cocky ass kid back them. Plus Beau was in a relationship at the time, not that I checked or anything.
Beau: *laughs* Sure you didn’t.
Lia: Do you love a challenge? If so, how do you handle it?
Beau: I do, but in the analytical sense. I love research and complying facts together to come to a solution.
Judd: I’m more of a kickass, then ask questions.
Lia: Favorite vacation spot.
Judd: Anywhere Beau is.
Beau: I love the mountains.
Lia: Favorite eye color?
*they point at each other and say “His”*
Lia: Care to share future plans?
Beau: *laces his fingers with Judd’s* I retire in a year and plan to be the house husband and spend more time with my family.
Judd: I don’t plan to retire anytime soon. Besides I like the idea of coming home to my new family every day.
Lia: Thank you, guys for chatting with me.

Senator Beau Beckett refuses to lay low because of a few death threats on postcards. His new bodyguard isn’t going to convince him otherwise. At least not until the threat becomes real and his four year old daughter’s safety is jeopardized. He has no choice but to work with his cocky and sexy Agent Wolfe to stay alive.

Federal Security Protection agent, Judd Wolfe doesn’t play by the rules. His out-of-the-box way of getting things done lands him a babysitting job. But being Senator Beckett’s bodyguard while staying out of his bed becomes his biggest challenge as passion ignites between the men.

Dread smacked into Judd, weighing down his chest as he followed his boss into the office. They may have been friends for over fifteen years, but when they were at work Daryl didn’t hold back on the ass kicking. Standing with his feet apart, Judd waited.
“I’m this close.” Daryl held two fingers pressed together up before turning to the window. “I can’t cover for you anymore. In fact, I’m done. That whole idiotic fly-off bullshit this afternoon was my last straw.”
Judd stared out the window, passed Daryl’s head. He remained silent, not because he had nothing to say, but because his CO was right. There was no excuse for his impulse to run into the warehouse without further research. Like every other choice in his life, the act had been reckless.
He’d been forced into retiring from the Air Force on medical disability, but he knew the truth. His commanding officers finally had a worthy excuse to push him out. Then he’d been right to follow his gut. Just like he was now.
Walter Smith needed to be stopped.
Turning to face him, Daryl pinned his with a hard stare. “This case is your last chance. The only reason I’m not kicking you out on your ass is because I need to ensure the senator stays alive and I can’t afford to be shorthanded with Marshall on leave.” He pointed to the folder Judd clutched in his hand. “Study that file until you memorize it. I do mean every note before you go to the senator’s office in the morning.”
Judd glanced down, then back up. “Why me? These are Sims’ notes.”
“Because you’re Beckett’s new bodyguard.”

4 Stars
When Judd is assigned to protect Beau from the threat of assassination, their rocky past immediately makes a challenging situation worse. When the sparks begin to fly between them, all bets are off. While the writing contained numerous grammatical errors, I enjoyed the story line.
Lia Davis is a mother to two young adults and three equally special kitties, a wife to her soul mate, and a lover of romance. She and her family live in Northeast Florida battling hurricanes and very humid summers. But it's her home and she loves it!

An accounting major, Lia has always been a dreamer with a very active imagination. The wheels in her head never stop. She ventured into the world of writing and publishing in 2008 and loves it more than she imagined. Writing is stress reliever that allows her to go off in her corner of the house and enter into another world that she created, leaving real life where it belongs.

Her favorite things are spending time with family, traveling, reading, writing, chocolate, coffee, nature and hanging out with her kitties.
