Cryostorm by Lynn Rush: Character Interview, Review & More!

Cryostorm
(Touch of Frost #3)
by Lynn Rush
Genre: Upper YA/New Adult Paranormal

Synopsis
They made his body, she’ll awaken his soul…

Three months ago, my twin sister, Georgia, and I had to die so our loved ones would be safe from the scientists hunting us. After months of searching, we’re close to finding the one person who can help us find closure, Georgia’s adoptive mother, Lois.

Snowstorms and an unexpected run-in with GenCorp, the latest entity charged with capturing us, delay our mission and break our spirits. The only light in my supernaturally chaotic life is Nate. He’s given up everything to protect and take care of me, and each minute I’m with him confirms how much I love him. Finally ready to share my heart again, I take the next step, admitting my true feelings.

The mad scientists who want to tear me apart and use my body for a freak show, once again taint my happiness with a disturbing technology that rips Nate from my arms. As I battle GenCorp’s warped technology to save my soul mate, I’m faced with the vivid reality: the Nate I knew and fell in love with may be lost forever.

And if I get him back, will I still be able to say those three precious words?
Interview with Nate Ashcroft

Carly: Welcome to my blog Nate! Readers LOVE a man’s perspective, so thank you for stopping by today and being willing to answer a few questions about your recent experiences. I know that this isn’t an easy topic for you to discuss, and I appreciate you taking the time to share!

Nate: Thanks, Carly. I’m happy to be here. I’m sitting in a coffee shop checking on things with GenCorp while Mandy and Georgia shop across the street.

Carly: I can’t imagine how frustrating it must have been for you. Just when it seemed like you and Mandy were finally going to get to have a happy ending, GenCorp makes another appearance and throws a massive wrench in your plans. What did it feel like, realizing that you had been exposed, and that Mandy’s life was once again in danger?

Nate: I hate to say it, I thought they’d be rearing their ugly heads again. I just had no idea it would be on such a sadistic level. All I ever wanted was for Mandy to be free—and for me to be free with her. But because of what I am… I didn’t trust we’d see that happy ending. Though, I never anticipated what they had planned. They are sick, just plain sick.

Carly: Wow, that’s pretty intense! What was the most difficult aspect of the changes that had been forced upon you for you to deal with personally?

Nate: Hurting Mandy was by far the most difficult thing about what happened. She’s the most important person in the world to me. Thinking about it makes me sick, but she is so strong. She never stopped fighting for me. Never.

Carly: Watching Mandy struggle to accept those changes must have been pure torture. Nothing hurts more than watching the person that you love experience pain. How aware of her emotions were you during that time?

Nate: It ripped me to pieces. I didn’t know everything she suffered, but what I did know… it killed me. When I couldn’t get to her, to help her, I… I’d never experienced anger so intensely before. Living at the Center most of my life, I was sheltered, learned everything I know through books, and until I met Mandy, I’d handled things emotionless, focused. She helped me find my soul.

Carly: I know that the past is what makes you who you are in the present, but if there is one thing that you could do differently, what would it be and why?

Nate: I would have left the Center earlier. Maybe I could have helped Mandy… saved her parents.

Carly: Now that the story has come to an end, you are able to open up and talk about your experiences like never before. How does that feel, and what is the one thing you are most looking forward to about the future?

Nate: For once I finally feel like we have a fighting chance. I’ll still keep my guard up since it’s pretty much ingrained in my DNA to watch out for Mandy and protect her, but this sense of hope… it feels nice. No more hiding or running. Just me and Mandy—well—and her family, too. We might just get to experience the college life together after all… and that’s something I’m looking forward to. But mostly, I’m looking forward to forever with my Mandy.

Carly: I'm sure my readers will agree with me when I say that we have all been cheering the two of you on since the beginning, and are so happy to see you finally get a chance at having the kind of future together you deserve. Thank you for sharing such personal insights with me, and please pass on to everyone else our love and best wishes!

My Review
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After the devastating events of Absolute Zero forced Nate, Mandy and their friends to live their life on the run, things have finally settled into a fragile routine. More in love than ever before, Nate and Mandy both know that GenCorp won't fade into the past, but neither expected the how deeply GenCorp is willing to descend into evil in order to bring Nate back under their control.

Amazingly well written, the much anticipated finally in the Touch of Frost trilogy kept me on the edge of my seat from the very first page! As new characters arrived to interact with the ones I'd already fell in love with, Rush's fast paced and intricate world is captivatingly developed, and CRYOSTORM brings the trilogy to life in a whole new way! Sure to please fans of all genres, including UA/NA, Paranormal Romance, and anyone who is looking for a good story to read. If you haven't started this series at the beginning, the time to do so is now!
