Tanith Davenport stops by today to tell us more about "Photograph" and her favorite characters; Tara and Azure.
When I first began writing “Photograph”, I knew I wanted my two heroines to be twin sisters. Not identical twins – I didn't want any mistaken-identity moments – but fraternal, different enough to be distinguished while similar enough to still be sisters, without any older/younger dynamic. And with a formerly close relationship now broken by secrets and separation, maybe irreparably.
The sister bond was a vital part of their characterisation. Both sisters were military, which can mean many lengthy separations – but it takes more than that to destroy a relationship, especially between twins, and the secrets between them are what drive the plot of “Photograph”.
Why did I love writing them so much? Because they gave me so much to work with. Both are strong women with a path to follow. Tara is career-driven and tightly wound, obsessed with a man she can't have while denying her attraction to the man she can; Azure is warm, charismatic and damaged, loyal to those she loves and nursing hidden pain. They act as mirrors for each other, seeing the best and worst in each other, drawn together and also driven apart.
By the time the story ended, I was sorry to see them go. But I hope they come alive for my readers as much as they did for me!
Synopsis:
She wanted him. Her sister married him.
Tara Thornton hasn't spoken to her sister in two years, ever since Azure married the man of Tara’s dreams. Tired of the rift, Azure invites her to take a Mediterranean cruise on a friend’s yacht and, bowing to family pressure, Tara accepts.
Forced to be in close proximity with the man she still desires, Tara is thrown into confusion. The presence of celebrity theme park owner Liam Wilder and the reality of his marriage to Azure send Tara into a tailspin and, in an attempt to regain control, she responds to the advances of hot fellow guest Ryan Hyde, while determined to feel no affection for him.
But Ryan has a way of getting under her skin, and Tara’s plan to get closer to Liam is rapidly losing its importance as Ryan begins to break down her defences. Can she let go of Liam, let Ryan into her heart…and tell Azure the real reason for her silence?
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of spanking and light BDSM.

I have been writing for ten years and first got into erotic romance through the Romantic Novelists' Association New Writers Scheme; they critiqued my debut novel "The Hand He Dealt", which was published in June 2011 and was nominated for the Joan Hessayon Award.
I live in Yorkshire with my husband and two extremely bratty tuxedo cats. When I'm not writing I spend my time watching horror movies, listening to rock music, travelling to new places and trying out new restaurants.
