My Partner and Me by Hollis Shiloh: #NewRelease #Review #Excerpt #Giveaway @thehollisshiloh

My Partner and Me
(Shifters and Partners, Book 2)
by Hollis Shiloh

Genre: M/M. Paranormal, Romance
Being mates makes everything perfect—doesn't it?

Sean is happy with his mate, Tom. As far as he's concerned, life is golden. Except for when it isn't. Their work is dangerous. While Sean's recovering from his most recent injury, he hears a little girl in his head, calling for help. And his wolf side is acting up: too sensitive, too vulnerable. He needs Tom more than ever, especially when it means facing his family and old wounds. Even if things are never truly right for his wolf side, at least he has his mate who will never leave him…right?
I grabbed him, wrestled him closer, and pressed him against the door. "We could find a fuckin' lot of other things to do if we canceled," I said, pressing my face against his neck so my words tickled him and turned him on at the same time.

I have a total advantage over the guy: I can smell what turns him on the most. With my stronger senses, I can hear the little catches in his breath nobody else would ever hear. When I see his eyes dilate even a little bit, or the way he licks his lips unconsciously, I know immediately and exactly what's going on with him.

It took a bit of time to learn him that well, but baby, now I know it all; and I can try new things and know immediately if this works for him or weirds him out now.

Not that we're totally kinky or anything. I just like surprising the guy and making him hot and happy and panting for me at unexpected times.

He likes it, too. He likes it when I take control a little bit, not too much, just enough that he doesn't have to decide everything, plan out when or how we're gonna do things, what'll make us happy.

Well, it all makes me happy, and when he wants to do something, I'm totally cool with it. But I can just feel the relief rolling off him when I push him back against a wall, drag his trousers down almost roughly, and deep-throat him. Like, he doesn't have to decide. He doesn't have to worry about seeming needy or silly: I took care of it for him, because I decided.

It's not a pitching-catching thing, either, because we're pretty even in that. We mix it up; it's all good. No, it's something more fundamental. Sometimes he can't get his mind to shut up, he can't stop second-guessing himself. So when I know exactly what he wants, when I decide, it's like he can take a deep breath, sigh, and just relax.

And I'm getting good at knowing what he wants, baby. I'm getting really fuckin' good.

I made a sound in my throat, a hum-growl sort of sound, and devoured him with my eyes, making him see how much I liked what I saw. His cheeks heated, growing pink for me.

I reached down and cupped him through his jeans, rolling my hand wickedly, feeling the hump of desire in his body, the way his breath hitched and caught for me.

"Get back inside," I said, quiet, grinning at him. I have him a wink. "I'll give you something else to think about."

He looked at me, searching my gaze, thinking again, thinking too hard about what we'd do, whether we had time.

"Get in there," I told him, herding him back, taking control. "We're cool, we have time. We won't miss the flight."

I gave him a swat on the ass, and he moved faster, liking it, letting go enough to go along with it.

"Table," he said suddenly, breathless and daring.

"What?"

But he was already bending over it. Oh, shit. He totally had a plan of his own. I was just going to deep-throat him, make him feel all sexy and loose and happy so he could go to sleep on the drive to the airport for a few  minutes, stop thinking all the damned time.

But he had a plan of his own.

Love a man with a plan. Or without one, actually. Whatever, just so long as it's my Tommy.

He was already working his jeans down, waggling his ass a little for me. "C'mon. You got the time, I got the ass."

I laughed, because, really, Tom. Really. But then I started touching him, and that was pretty damned awesome.

I guess it's a lucky thing I keep some lube with me 24-7, because I did not want to leave the table before I finished that meal, no sir.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sean and Tom are back. Partners and mates at work and at home, everything should be perfect, but love isn't always enough.

Sean's wolf is over the moon to have his mate in his arms, but life still isn't easy for a lone wolf without a pack.

Tom is happier with Sean than he ever imagined possible, but the hurt he experienced during his marriage to Lowell casts a shadow over their new relationship.

A mysterious case involving a missing child haunts both of them, and tension at the police station runs high.

MY PARTNER AND ME picks up where MY PARTNER THE WOLF left off, but from Sean's point of view. His honest what-you-see-is-what-you-get human personality and intense emotionalism while in wolf form combines into a captivating story about compromise, commitment, letting go and living for love.
