Review: Cold Moon Rising
Cold Moon Rising by Sarah Mäkelä
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
An action packed short story that's hot, hot, hot!
A case of mistaken identity and Kelly suddenly finds herself kidnapped and caged by military scientists who are hoping to create super soldiers by studying and genetically altering shifters. She doesn't have any family to speak of, and despairs that anyone will even notice she is missing.
Her only hope lies with Jacob, her college study partner. She had hoped that their relationship romance bound, but since her last encounter with him ended in an argument, there is a chance that he won't notice her absence either.
Kelly has no idea that Jacob is a wolf shifter who has been attracted to her from the very beginning. He is willing to do what ever it takes to save the woman he believes is his mate. Unfortunately, his plan of action backfires, and lands the star crossed lovers caged and at the mercy of zealous scientists bent on exploitation.
This fast paced novelette is fraught with danger. As the two uncover government secrets they also discover unexpected truths about each other. Irresistibly drawn together, the sexual chemistry between Kelly and Jacob sparks like a live wire.
This is an entertaining story with a cliffhanger ending that will leave you breathless! Fair warning; it does contain editing and grammar errors that are noticeable, but do not significantly detract from the overall story line.
A copy of Cold Moon Rising was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
